ABOUT RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Understanding relationships through the conversations that shape them.

Every relationship develops through interaction. Words, timing, context, and patterns of behaviour continuously influence how people understand, trust, and respond to one another.

Yet most organizations have remarkably little visibility into these dynamics. They can measure response times, resolution rates, customer satisfaction, and sentiment, but these indicators reveal only part of the picture.

Relational Intelligence (RI) was created to address what lies between those measurements: the evolving health and direction of the relationship itself.

OUR ORIGIN

What if we could understand not only what people communicate, but what their communication does to a relationship?

This question lies at the foundation of RI.

Traditional communication analytics tend to examine interactions individually, identifying topics, sentiment, intent, or compliance with predefined standards. While valuable, these approaches often overlook how individual interactions contribute to larger relational patterns.

A conversation can be polite while trust is deteriorating.

A difficult exchange can strengthen a relationship.

A resolved support ticket does not necessarily mean a satisfied customer.

Understanding these distinctions requires looking beyond individual messages.

RI emerged from the pursuit of a more comprehensive analytical framework, one capable of measuring multiple dimensions of communication, identifying the dynamics they produce, and interpreting their cumulative effect on relationships.

The result is a relational intelligence engine designed to evaluate communication as it happens, rather than relying exclusively on retrospective analysis.

OUR APPROACH

From communication signals to relational understanding.

sentiment

Sentiment asks whether a message sounds positive or negative.

relational intelligence

RI asks what the interaction is doing to the relationship.

Relationships are complex, but the interactions that shape them contain observable and measurable characteristics.

RI combines computational linguistics, multidimensional scoring, and relational modelling to examine those characteristics systematically.

Rather than reducing a conversation to positive or negative sentiment, RI evaluates multiple dimensions of communication simultaneously, capturing how interactions change over time and how those changes affect the relationship.

These signals form the foundation of a deeper analytical framework that connects individual interactions to relational dynamics, behavioural patterns, trajectory and potential outcomes.

Our approach is built around three complementary capabilities:

01 · describe

Describe what is happening.

Identify the patterns and dynamics emerging within a conversation, including signals that may indicate strengthening engagement, growing friction, or deteriorating relational conditions.

02 · prescribe

Prescribe what could improve.

Translate analytical findings into practical communication strategies and interventions that can help guide an interaction toward a more constructive outcome.

03 · predict

Predict where things may be heading.

Use evolving relational signals to assess likely trajectories, helping organizations recognize emerging risks and opportunities before they become obvious through conventional performance indicators.

Together, these capabilities move communication analysis beyond observation toward actionable relational intelligence.

OUR VISION

Make relational intelligence a measurable, actionable part of every communication system.

Organizations increasingly depend on conversations to build trust, resolve problems, retain customers, coordinate teams, and make decisions.

At the same time, communication is becoming more distributed, more automated, and more deeply integrated with artificial intelligence.

We believe the next step is not simply making these interactions faster or more efficient. It is understanding whether they are producing healthier, more productive relationships.

immediate focus

Our immediate focus is Customer Support and Customer Success, two disciplines that are increasingly converging around the long-term health of customer relationships.

Where traditional support concentrates on resolving individual problems, relational intelligence provides a way to understand how those interactions influence the broader relationship over time.

But the underlying principle extends much further.

Autonomous systems

Wherever communication influences an outcome, relational intelligence has a potential role to play, from enterprise collaboration and professional services to human-AI interaction and autonomous systems.

Our vision is for relational intelligence to become a foundational capability within the platforms that facilitate these exchanges, making relational understanding available wherever important conversations happen.

OUR JOURNEY

From foundational research to real-time intelligence.

01

Concept and Research

Established the analytical foundations of RI, developing a multidimensional scoring architecture and a structured framework for interpreting communication and relational dynamics.

02

Engine and Integration

Built a working relational intelligence engine with API access and real-time evaluation capabilities, enabling integration into existing communication environments.

03

Live Demonstration

Developed an interactive demonstration environment that makes relational analysis accessible and illustrates how communication signals contribute to evolving relational assessments.

next

The Next Chapter

Our development priorities include flexible deployment options, Normative Adaptation for context-sensitive calibration, and broader analytical visibility through the platforms organizations already use.

These capabilities are intended to make RI increasingly adaptable to the environments, industries, and relationships it serves.

Better Conversations. Stronger Relationships.

Understanding a relationship should not depend entirely on waiting for something to go wrong.

RI makes it possible to examine the interactions shaping that relationship, recognize emerging dynamics, and make more informed decisions about what happens next.

Understand where your relationships are heading. Influence what happens next.
